I went down to Hammonasset Beach to hopefully see a Northern Harrier (Marsh Hawk) or two. Luckily I did see a couple but not so lucky is they were a long way off. I had been there for a while and decided my last stop will be walking down the trail and going out to the lookout platform. When I arrived at the platform the wind was brutal but in the distance I saw a Harrier. She kept flying in the same spot, riding the wind and looking so cool. I figured since she isn't going anywhere and she is way to far for good photos maybe a little video would be worth a try.
This video is just slowed down 1/4 from my camera. All the clicking you hear is from my lens trying to keep focus on the Harrier in the distance. I did lose focus a couple times but I kept it in because the camera eventually got the focus back. You have the rumble of the wind pushing on my lens, the clicks, the distortion from the shear distance and even with all that, I really think it is fun to watch the Harrier fly into the wind and hardly move then turn with the wind and fly like a bullet.
