Released into the wild!
Today the aviary in Spain was opened and our four northern bald ibis were released into the wild. The work to save the northern bald ibis in the area has been very successful. Today there is a large, healthy colony in the area.
The released birds will join the wild ibis colony. They are still young, but hopefully, by next year they will have found a partner to build a nest and have young with.
Our partners in Proyecto Eremita and Zoobotánico Jerez have done a fantastic job. It is great to receive such positive reports from the conservation efforts. Together we can make a difference!
