North's young skipper was scintillating throughout 1994 at centre half-forward and he led a side which will go from strength to strength after a sensational season.
He wasn't alone however. He was brilliantly supported by Corey McKernan, one of the game's rising stars, Wayne Schwass, Anthony Stevens and a backline which didn't often receive all that much credit but one which was beaten even less frequently.
It was capped with a finals series that will long live in our memories, but there was a suspicion at the end of this magnificent season that better things were still to come."
