North Korea’s investment in research, manufacturing, and testing facilities for missile development has produced an advanced missile program, capable of delivering conventional and nuclear payloads to much of the world. In 2017, North Korea unveiled two different intercontinental ballistic missiles capable of striking the continental United States—the Hwasong-14 and Hwasong-15. North Korea’s arsenal will become even more sophisticated absent a verifiable agreement to halt its missile activities.
