🎓⚫️⚪️ Honorary Degrees at St James' Park | Eddie Howe & Dan Burn
At Northumbria Uni we’re canny proud to have awarded honorary Doctor of Civil Law degrees to Newcastle United Head Coach Eddie Howe and defender Dan Burn in a special ceremony at St James' Park.
When their graduation ceremony was rescheduled due to a fixture clash, our newly appointed Chancellor George Clarke presented their degrees at the stadium in his first official ceremonial duty.

Eddie Howe: "My biggest driver has always been improvement, whether that's self-improvement or trying to empower other people. You have to educate yourself as much as you can to better yourself for the benefit of not just you, but the people you're working with.“
Dan Burn: "Anyone on any journey is going to have setbacks. Mine in particular is just a lot of resilience and grit and not losing focus of that big goal. There's always knockbacks, but it's about still having the fire to do what you want to do.“
Both Eddie and Dan actively support the Newcastle United Foundation's community programmes, speaking openly about mental health and wellbeing to inspire almost 70,000 people across the North East every year.
