In this video I take you along with me on a recent (and cold!) day hike on the North Country Trail. This day hike represented the final miles for my #Hike100NCT challenge. This challenge is sponsored by the North Country Trail Association in conjunction with the National Park Service to encourage folks to get out on the trail this year in celebration of its 100 year anniversary.
The temps and winds varied for the day with averages at around 10F with wind chills bringing it down to -5F.
We started our hike at a boy scout cabin in the Lowell State Game area in Lowell, Michigan. From there we hiked about 7.5 miles north, and then back to the cabin. This was a group day hike with the Michigan Hiking and Backpacking Facebook Group.
I got to meet some really cool people, and it was amazing weather for a hike. Afterwards we all went over to the Flatt River Grill in Lowell for some much deserved grub. I had their Flatt River Burger with fries and it was amazing. :-)
