The North American F-100 Super Sabre served with the United States Air Force as a jet fighter / fighter-bomber /ground-attack aircraft. It served as a fighter-bomber in the Vietnam War. The F-100 Super Sabre had also a high accident rate.

The MiG-25 Foxbat (NATO name) was one of the fastest military aircraft ever to enter service. It was constructed as an interceptor, mainly in stainless steel, and was a heavy and not very agile aircraft, although NATO feared it would be.
