Actor, comedian and writer Norm Macdonald began his stand-up career in the 1980s, hitting the club circuit and eventually becoming a regular on late night talk shows in the 1990s. He made the leap to writing for The Dennis Miller Show and then transitioned to scripted comedy, as a writer on Roseanne. After one season on the ABC sitcom he quit to work on Saturday Night Live.
