"Vandraren" translates from the Swedish as "Wanderer"; the song has lyrics by Py Bäckman and music by Mats Wester. The first track on the eponymous Nordman album, it won the Rockbjörnen award for Swedish Song Of The Year in 1994, reaching #7 in the Topplistan (as the Swedish singles chart was then known). The B-side of the original single was "Strömkarlen."
"Vandraren" was also recorded in Norwegian but is probably best known by its English translation as "Journeyman."
English translation.
The wanderer have nowhere to go, when he arrived at the end
The moon will stain all the shadows blue, he is the only one left out there.
Far over there from a secluded courtyard, shines the heat out into the night
Awakens the hunger in his frozen body, which has lived on air and water
It hurts, but walk anyway, you can always go back
It hurts, but walk anyway, you are here and came here as a wanderer.
The bell rings for a lonely soul, it has borrowed a voice from death
Is it harmfull or well-intended, when it counts our destiny
Stop thinking it is difficult anyway, you may take one day at a time
The wanderer have nowhere to go, if he walks at the end of the battle
It hurts, but walk anyway, you can always go back
It hurts, but walk anyway, you are here and came here as a wanderer.
It hurts, but walk anyway, you can always go back
It hurts, but walk anyway, you are here and came here as a wanderer.
