"What are you talking about, Synthesaurus?! There's more instrumental music out there than ever before!" That's true - if you define "instrumental" as "noone is singing on it". But that is not how I define "instrumental". An instrumental, according to the Synthesaurus, has to have:
1. A song structure, thus featuring recognizably different song parts, using at least two different harmonies.
2. Lead melodies, that are suitable for being sung by vocalists, using lyrics.
If your jam doesn't match these criteria, it's not a song. Please note that I am not saying that one is better than the other. Your jam might still be great - but it's not necessarily a song. Or an "instrumental".
