Finally got the pair and it’s as insane as I thought it would be. First tweaks out of the box so still finding my way. These devices are so beautifully made and are really solid. The glowing frequency LEDs on the Duos are mesmerising 😵💫👍🏼

Artium Instruments Swarm
Lorre Mill Double Knot V3
Behringer RD8 II
Walrus Audio Qi Etherealizer
I started with a glitchy sequence in the shift registers of the Double Knot. I sent this into the Etherealizer which added delay and granular samples across 3 octaves. The beats were a pattern I created long ago in the RD8 that fitted nicely. The Swarm is on pad duties. A fair amount of detune widens the sound and I’m ‘playing’ the filter to soften and brighten the pad as I go.
At 2:50 I add a freeze sample on the Swarm to bring in a lower sustained pad. This builds the sound nicely when playing higher octave notes over the top.
The RD8 is sending clock directly to the Double Knot (trigger out to clock in) using 3.5mm jack. It’s great that the Double Knot has a basic clock in and out as well as CV. A session for Hardware Jams (Desert Story Pt3).
Roland SE-02
Arturia Microfreak
Elektron Model Cycles
Behringer RD8
Lorre Mill Double Knot V3
Walrus Audio Qi Etherealizer
Roland SE-02 as master into midi splitter.
The patch on the Microfreak was loaded from my last session and it fitted so I didnt bother changing it. Very lazy of me.
The wonderful Lorre-Mill Double Knot is quite versatile thanks to its connectivity. Although it’s a modular ‘banana’ synth it has a standard trig/clock in and out so it’s really easy to sync to more standard kit. This is the first time I’ve used the clock input and it worked without any issue, allowing its jumbled sparkly sequence to sync with the beat. Here it’s clocked to everything via the trigger out of the RD8 which is slaved to the SE02. The SE02 is the master (via 5 pin midi splitter).
Created some lovely FM tones on the Cycles.
Had to chop the end off as it drifted over 6 minutes 😬 ooops.
