The NodeMCU device is brilliant. They're about $3 on aliexpress.com, have WiFi built-in, and are more powerful than an Arduino. Moreover they have enough RAM, processor power, and Flash memory to run the Lua programming language. This changes everything for embedded device development.
It made sense to extend ChiliPeppr to enable great support for programming your NodeMCU device and more easily bringing it into the fold of the ChiliPeppr ecosystem. The goal of the NodeMCU workspace is to enable folks to control hardware inside ChiliPeppr from a NodeMCU or ESP8266 in an easier way--whether that be extending your CNC machine with pump controllers, laser controllers, etc. or creating standalone hardware devices with a user control interface inside of ChiliPeppr.
