Every year at the International OCD Foundation’s Annual OCD Conference, the OCD community comes together to celebrate progress, share knowledge, and recommit to the work still ahead.
This year, NOCD Co-founder and CEO Stephen Smith was honored with the Hero Award, recognizing his contributions to raising awareness and expanding access to specialized, evidence-based OCD care. While this award was presented to Stephen, it reflects the dedication of the entire NOCD team working every day to help people with OCD reclaim their lives.
In his acceptance speech, Stephen reflected on the question that inspired NOCD: “If effective treatment exists, why is it so incredibly hard to get better?”
That question continues to drive our mission. Although more people have access to specialized OCD care today than ever before, too many still face barriers to getting the treatment they deserve.
We’re incredibly grateful to the IOCDF for this recognition and proud to continue working toward a future where everyone with OCD can access effective, specialized care.
