From a thrift store haul to a stroll in a snowy park, the path of discovery to the Maple Syrup Cake is a beautiful one. Not as beautiful as the cake itself. This cake has got to be the most unknown but BEST cake I have ever tried. I was going to keep this a secret, but I can't not tell you.

Maple Syrup Cake
- 2 2/3 cups sifted flour (recipe says cake flour...but I'm only reading this now.... AP worked amazing)
- 3 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup margarine or butter
2/3 cup light brown sugar
7 egg yolks, well beaten
2/3 cup milk
2/3 cup maple syrup
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (I used pecans)
Maple Sugar Frosting:
1 cup sugar
1 cup maple sugar
1 cup sour cream
