Noblehops was formed around 2002-2003. I was living off Hollywood Blvd. in a studio apartment. One night I walked down the hallway to check my mail, and noticed noise coming from one of the apartments. It was 2 dudes drinking beer enjoying their night. One of the men was James Landers. He was wearing glasses, and his dreadlocks looked proper. I don't know why, but I asked him if he wanted to come over and listen to some of my music. That was the beginning of us recording, and forming the crew. I had met Alex Kim at Arizona State University in the late 90's. I saw him in the cafeteria, near our dorms, ordering a sandwich. I was scared of him at first, but i approached him cause there wasn't a lot of Asians at school. We went up to his dorm room and watched a Style Elements b-boy VHS tape. He had turntables in his dorm room with quite a lot of vinyl. I remember him telling me about Indelible Mc's, and playing me the vinyl. He also told me about the crew Ugly Duckling-and I used to make him play "fresh mode" on repeat. We later opened for Ugly Duckling at The Knitting Factory in LA.
