NOAA's Atlantic Oceanographic & Meteorological Laboratory conducts hurricane research in order to better understand tropical cyclones, improve forecasts, and protect lives and property. The hurricane hunters fly into storms to gather critical data. Dropsondes have been used for decades to measure temperature, pressure, and humidity from inside a storm. StreamSondes by Skyfora are new, lightweight instruments that can be used to collect even more data from tropical cyclones.
