Trump claims Andy Burnham told him he’ll open up North Sea oil and gas — the exact demand that failed with Starmer. But where’s the evidence from the Burnham administration?
In this video I break down Donald Trump’s latest White House remarks. He says the new UK Prime Minister confirmed during their phone call that North Sea oil extraction will restart, promising it would make Britain “a wealthy country.” Trump contrasts this with his unsuccessful pressure on Keir Starmer. Yet the official Downing Street summary of the call makes no mention of oil or gas drilling. There is currently zero public confirmation from the Burnham government supporting Trump’s version of events.
What about Trump’s familiar talking points on “windmills.” He repeats claims that turbines are destroy the countryside, and that the UK is foolish for importing oil while Norway grows rich from the same North Sea reserves. Several of these assertions do not match available data on wind capacity, manufacturing, or the actual drivers of Norway’s sovereign wealth.
