After a long hiatus from racing more than 50+ miles, I decided somewhat on a whim to sign up and race the Javelina 100km race put on by the good people at Aravaipa Running. On less than a month's notice, I put in some condensed training for the big party in the desert with the goal of having fun but also putting in a performance I can be proud of.
