For years, people in the stats community have been making timelapses. 24 hours, 50 hours, 7 days. But many thought… why not make it last for months? Years even? And some people were able to do so. The current record for the longest timelapse in the stats community lasted for 3 years!! And it’s even still going to this day, which is honestly the craziest part. But many thought… Could we make longer timelapses? Could a timelapse run for 5, 10, maybe even 50 years?
The short answer is no. The long answer is this video. We dive into a hypothetical scenario where you did try to do this timelapse, see how much it would cost to run such a timelapse, and if you're even alive by the time it finishes.
