Police departments across the nation are recruiting women to be police officers. They seem to think that female officers can de-escalate better than men and are more trustworthy. I beg to differ. I do not think we need to hire more women. The women we have now simply assimilated into the male dominated culture of the department they were hired into. I believe that is exactly what newly hired women would do too. If the women who are presently employed in law enforcement were unable to improve anything even a little bit, how will adding more women help??
