I'll say upfront - I captured this footage on the PC version, and rendered the video at 60fps to fully exemplify how terrible this port still is. All hitches and frame rate drops are as they were experienced in-game. There is pretty intense flickering at a couple of points when interacting with trade stations so if you suffer from epilepsy then I won't blame you for skipping this one. This port needs fixed QUICK.

ASIDE FROM THAT - No Man's Sky has finally been released, and safe to say it was not the game it was sold as. That said, its problems run deeper than that - this is not the 'Minecraft in space' that many with tempered expectations perhaps believed it would be. In Minecraft, what you create and destroy creates a unique player-driven narrative. In No Man's Sky, everything is intrinsically linked to progression systems, and so everyone's story is the same. This is a game that takes the vast, infinite void of space, and makes exploring it as engaging as navigating a menu.

That said, is there a meditative value to this limited, lethargic gameplay? Watch this review to find out!
