On July 1, 2008, the Google Maps camera cars drive through the streets of Molfsee, North Germany. To the dismay of the inhabitants of the small town, they are afraid that burglars will know where to break in easily. The protests are in the news for days.
From that moment on, they prefer to keep Street View outside the door throughout Germany. Within a few months, large parts of Germany will be blurred. From that moment on, some Germans affectionately call their country Blurmany.
