In this penultimate installment of the church sign build series, I go over how I created a custom cap for the frame of my sign. In the previous video, I went over what I had to do to correct some springback. The result was functionally sound, but needed to be hidden with a more asthetically pleasing solution.
I used @adskFusion to model a cap, which I then 3D printed. I didn't think PETG plastic would look good enough or survive the elements, so I learned the sheet metal tools to make a bent brass skin, As with everything, it was a learning process the whole way.
From the get go, I was taken with how the unfolded metal skin looked like a bird or a butterfly, so I ended up spending far too much time making an animation in @BlenderOfficial, with Lego elements from @Mecabricks. I hope it gives someone a smile.
