Join award-winning historian Dr. Paul Tenkotte for this fascinating look at the engineering feats, political rivalries and economic ambitions that connected the growing American West to the East Coast before the Civil War.

Learn how cities like Baltimore, Philadelphia and New York competed for control of these vital transportation routes and how those connections transformed the nation.

Dr. Tenkotte is an award-winning Professor of History at Northern Kentucky University, editor of NKyTribune’s “Our Rich History” column and has appeared in numerous television documentaries, including PBS’s Ten That Changed America: Engineering Marvels.
