Nkele is the first of five songs we recorded in the village of Mieze, Mozambique. Inside a church that was nearly destroyed by a cyclone in late 2024.
With only crumbling walls remaining, the villagers rebuilt a simple structure from sticks, rope, and tarps so they could continue gathering to worship. What you’re hearing was captured live in that sacred space.
This song is more than a melody, it’s a cry, a prayer, and a reflection of deep faith rising from the rubble.
