In this run, Soma decides to make the impossible possible by fighting his evil side: a version of himself that succumbed to the darkness and became Dark Lord, popularly referred to as "Somacula".

This was played on 50% speed and using savestates, but only once at the beginning of every room. My intention was to simulate a "perfect human viable play", using only what a believe to be RTA-viable strats, by repeating each individual room until they seemed errorless. Obviously, there is still room for very small optimizations, but I believe my final result to be very generous regardless, using some somewhat hard strats and more-precise-than-usual movement. I don't think that any more RTA-viable optimizations would change the final outcome anyway.
I recently got a comment on my old Alternative Tourian Escape LOTAD video (youtu.be/q1e3-Njihew) by user The Sedaiv saying that some day humans would be able of doing that on a real console.
As much as I would like to see that, I highly doubt it will ever happen. And to prove my point, I made this.
I think that, to do a run as good as this video, it would take tenths of thousands of attempts, and beyond human skill or suspicous luck; and as you can see, it wouldn't be enough. I don't believe anybody would be willing to put so much effort into something like this either.
In the end, I don't believe humans will reach TAS levels ever. Of course, I do believe humans get better and better with practice, being able to pull off strats once believed to be TAS-only at specific and isolated points of a speedrun. But there's a limit to human skill, and no one can play absolutely perfectly for as long as 2 minutes straight. But that's the beauty of TASing: knowing that something is possible, but no one will ever do it.

The final time on the counter for this one is 00:04:94, saving around 04.66 seconds from the previous version. Time saves come from more polished general movement, more efficient shinesparks, and an additional shinespark. I do think this is still improvable (by a few frames at least), and I'll probably get back to it some day. But I don't know when that day will be.
I actually recorded this back in 07/28/2019, but never got to upload it since I do not think it is that big of a difference from my previous version, even if it is still cool to watch. I am ultimately uploading it because I recently got back to this topic: I wanted to demonstrate wheter the alternative Tourian escape under 2 minutes is RTA viable or not, and upload a video with the results (this one right here: youtu.be/Tua_xfeW6GI). After uploading that video, uploading this one wasn't too much of an effort, so I thought I might as well do it. I'm also uploading this to YouTube because I am tired of having to look for this on my PC whenever I want to watch it again.
-HELP ME WITH VIDEO ENCODING:-
-As you can see, I upscaled this x16, to 4K, using VirtualDub. I tried to encode and compress it using x264 (x264fw), but any configuration I tried produced very ugly artifacts in the final video. I eventually had to use lossless x264 to fix it, ending up with a massive file.-
-If anybody with experience with VirtualDub or x264 compression could let me know why trying to compress the video results in those artifacts, I would really appreciate it!-
Having a video uploaded of your speedrun was a requirement.
A few notes:
- This was done on emulator because my recording equipment broke. Normally I would run this in Wii U VC.
- This is pretty improvable, but I didn't have time to record more than one run since the deadline to apply was really close.

This speedrun isn't obviously the best one out there, but it was pretty decent for me. If something similar ends up happening at La Triple S, I'll be more than glad.

NOTES:
This is not my PB. At the end of the video you can see that my IGT PB is 31:16.
The route used is a "marathon friendly" route, the one I'll be executing at La Triple S. That's why I saved the game a few times, thus losing some time.
I know my route/strats are still a bit outdated; that's because I don't have the time to speedrun actively. I still enjoy speedrunning this whenever I feel like, and I wanted to take the chance to attend La Triple S. I feel lucky and grateful for that.

IF YOU WANT TO DO THIS: cheat codes and instructions to reproduce the behavior shown in the video (fight Dark Lord Soma/Dracula with Soma) are at the bottom of the description. Note, again, that this video does NOT use any cheat code.
If you get tired of the "out of the room" section: I change my equipment and turn on Julius Mode at 6:14, and I get back to bounds at 8:07.
It's not a secret that when Soma goes outside the room (out of bounds). the game writes the "visited" flag to wrong memory addresses, depending on Soma's position. If you write 1 in the address 0x020F7257, you'll turn on Julius mode, which makes the final boss Soma (Dracula) instead of Menace.
This was somewhat hard to pull off since there are some other nearby addresses (which I don't exactly know) which mess with your game. It's really difficult to come back in bounds without having your controls altered; it can also happen that, after you defeat Soma, the final conversation with Soma's friends and thus the credits don't get triggered, getting trapped in the room where it should take place; and also, as it was the case in this video, it can happen that the upper screen sets its image to the one of the main menu (whcih was unfortunate since I wanted to show the enemy files for Soma and Dracula).
This video is far from optimal (specially the part where Soma uses Black Panther, since I was too lazy to make it faster), it's easy to spot a few places where some frames are lost, which may add up to a few seconds of video.
I will post the .dsm file if someone asks for it.

Yes! But read the next question...
- Can this be done on real time (and without savestates/tools)?
Theoretically, yes. However, it would be really hard to pull off, due to some issues I talked about earlier in the description, and because if you write a value that isn't 1 in the address 0x20F7257 (which, by the way, you don't know when you're writing there), you'll have to start over again. So yes, you can do it yourself on console, but I hope you have really good patcience.
- What happens to your game after the credits roll?
Your game will still be on Julius mode but playing as Soma, so you won't be able of switching equipment or souls. You can start a New Game +, which will make your game full "Soma mode" again.
- Can I use cheats codes to reproduce this behavior and fight Soma with Soma?
Sure thing, I'll leave the instructions here:
CHEAT CODE AND INSTRUCTIONS TO FIGHT SOMA WITH SOMA:
1) Go to the room in the abyss before the room with the door and the deaths (3rd last room of the game, right next to the warp room).
2) Activate this cheat code (Action Replay): 020F7254 01000000
3) Enter the next room (room with the door and the deaths, that leads to the final boss).
4) Deactivate the cheat code.
5) Activate this other AR code (Action Replay): 020F7254 00000000 (this reactivates your menu).
6) Enter the last room.
7) Fight Soma.
To fight Menace with Julius/Yoko/Alucard, follow the same instructions but swap the cheat codes, so that the second one is activated first.
You must use an emulator that supports Action Replay cheat codes. Please, do not ask me about compatibility with specific emulators, since I only have experience with DeSmuME. Any question asking "does this work with X emulator?" will be redirected to the description of the video.

I know this could be polished a bit, but I proved my point, and I didn't want to spend more than one afternoon on this. Final time on the counter is 00:00:28.
I played on real time until 0:26, when I noticed Mother Brain's lock stayed open (what I was trying to achieve by playing randomly and dumb), and then I started using frame-by-frame inputs and savestates. I want to point out how helpful the Screw Attack and Hi-Jump Boots are.
I highly doubt this can be done on console.

If you ever wanted to get the "Ritual"/"Banishment" achievement on your Hollow Knight save, but didn't have time to play through the whole game again, or you regreted your original decision and want to have the other obtainable charm, or didn't know that there was another alternate ending and you're curious how it plays out, search no more! In this video I show you how to alter your save file so you can witness both endings on the SAME save, AS MANY TIMES as you like.
Just be really careful and set the values exactly as I set them (even if I don't change any some values inbetween, those should be the sames I have too) and you'll be able to change and repeat your decision to your will.

Ahora ya puedo grabar mi Wii U, y como tenía ganas de grabar Zelda BotW, me pareció buena idea grabar lo nuevo que ha salido con el primer DLC ayer (por partes, eso sí).
Lo primero a lo que me enfrento es el "Reto de la Espada", una misión secundaria que consiste en enfrentarse al Santuario de la espada para liberar su verdadero poder.
Es un reto más difícil de lo que parece, y solo me he enfrentado a los niveles fáciles, ¡no quiero saber cómo me irá en los difíciles!
Espero que la calidad de vídeo sea lo suficientemente buena y que os agrade el juego :D

As many others like me, I spent 2017's valentine's day alone. So I decided I'd try to figure out how many items can you AVOID collecting on today's google doodle. The idea was a sort of low% speedrun.
Sometimes avoiding things is way harder than collecting them. This video took me about 2 hours playing to get those results, which are NOT perfect:
In level one, as you can see, it is theoretically possible to obtain just 10 seeds, but it's so hard I didn't want to lose my time trying that (again).
Level two was perfect, I think. It was the easiest of them all.
In level three I'm sure you can avoid one or two more ribbons on the last part of the level, but you have to be very cautious and lucky.
Same for level four. You could probably save one or two flowers more in the last section of the level, but I'm not sure.
Anway, you get the idea.

So, another update to my crops farm.
This version is much much simpler to build. Its production is the same as the last version, and can't be any faster (read note 2): 58 stacks of drops per hour = more than a double chest of drops per hour (and per module, see note 1).
It also consumes arond 93 stacks of bone meal per hour, which is 31 stacks of bones per hour, which isn't as much of a deal actually, since you can build quite easily an AFK bone farm with a skeleton spawner.
In addition, this design can be used with all kind of crops (carrots, potatoes, wheat and beetroots). So definitively, this design is much better than the previous ones. I personally think this farm can't be improved.
*NOTE 1:* this farm can be considered a module and be a modular farm.
*NOTE 2:* with n villagers on it, the production should be n times faster. However, the chances of the farm breaking increase exponentially as the number of villagers on it do.
*The only thing you have to do is refilling the dispensers with bonemeal. As long as there's bonemeal left in the dispensers, the farm doesn't require any player interaction and is fully automatic.

I made this farm really really quickly, because EDDxample (youtube.com/channel/UC__vX0QGDIOQgelZ0rdIOsA) inspired me with his awesome ideas.
It gives you around 36-38 stacks of carrots or potatos per hour.
With some tweaks, it would also work as a wheat farm; that would be more complex to build, too.

Always wondered how it is to have less than nothing? Well, I don't know about it in real life, but I can show you what it is like in minecraft!
I did some research in minecraft 1.8.8 (the version I'm currently playing on my SSP) to find negative item properties. But I'm aware that in other versions, some properties change, it depends on the way minecraft is coded, and in every version minecraft code changes. We may be looking at another version soon, too. But, probably, the properties I talk about in here are not the same negative items will have in the latest versions.

Just a kind of a cheap YouTube Poop/joke with the "disappointed" Inception scene, in which I used a Bionicle 2 epic song (youtu.be/faPbRmUHFpc).
I have to say the epic part of that song is so damn short I had to cut about half of the whole kick scene to make it fit. That was horrible, I'd have liked to have more track to put on the whole scene (and not being forced to cut it this way).
Oh, and also, I had no idea how to kept the voices of the actors but deleting the original background music, but it doesn't matter since it's so low it's barely audible.

¡Buenas! Pro motivos que explico en el vídeo, he decidido crearme un mundo SSP y empezar a subir vídeos sobre él a YouTube. En este mundo buscaré "los límites de minecraft survival". Hello everybody, I'm ElB0ludo, and I'd like to share two minecraft mechanics me and my friends from Elemental have discovered.
The first one, the bed duplication glitch is not something that useful, but it means you only have to craft a bed once in your world and you can have as many of them as you'd wish.
The second and big one, the portal-coords multiplier, may be considered "the fastest way to travel in minecraft". However, it is in fact a well known 1.9 bug. A pretty annoying actually; it usually happens when you enter a portal and you're having lag issues. You may lose the connection with the server and get kicked from it, so whenever you enter the server again, you'll end up in the dimension you were entering but with the same coords you left the other dimension. One day I was on Elemental and I lost all my full diamond protection IV armor because of that bug. I got really bored and started to mess up with portals there, then. I discovered you could actually force that bug to happen almost whenever you liked, and that's why I'm uploading this video :D
So, have in mind that this is actually A BUG FORCED TO HAPPEN, and it's going to be removed in the future for sure. In addition, it may happen somewhen when you don't want it to happen and screw your day up a bit. Anyway, it may be very useful to travel really long distances, to get on the top of the nether, or to get to hard-to-get places.
About the video and music: As you can surely see, I have some little troubles with video quality because of hardware and software. I'm on my way to solve them, so I hope my videos are becoming better soon. Anyway, I think it's still viewable and enjoyable, and it's what I currently have.
Concerning the music, I'd like some feedback about what kind of music would fit the best for these kind of videos. I used "old school" makina in this one because I didn't really know what to use, and I couldn't find anything actually suitable for the video. I still like it, though.

EDIT: Its health was actually 92 points higher because I didn't count the "Mana reaper" attack it did at 3:37 (it was 92 points higher since then).
Sorry again about the bad audio and about the game being in spanish. The first thing happened because my emulator lags unless I lower some settings and the second one is because the save file I needed was on my spanish-translated game.

The way this works is actually pretty similar to defanive's discovery, but it's more or less like a bugfix. (sorry if you don't understand the explainig, it's a bit messy).
Mojang limited structures' generation to y = 127 and below and removed the algorithm which added structures to the hashmap, but now they're only added to the volume the bounding box cover... But what does that mean? Well, nether fort mobs now spawn inside the nether fort (segment)'s bounding box and in the areas within the bounding box of then nether fort itself (not its segments/parts) and the block below is nether brick.

The Wii version of Metroid Prime (Trilogy and New Play Control!) changed the Phazon suit cutscene, and as nobody has ever made a comparison between the original and the new one, I decided to do it myself.
This video shows some funny bugs that happen when you do the refill glitch in the varia suit statue.
The refill glitch is used by speedrunners to save some time while getting upgrades.
These bugs are completely useless. Here's a desciption for each bug:
1- The first one is a refill glitch performed as usual (ignore the low health and missiles).
2- The second one is a refill performed when you have almost all the health and ammo, and you let the two messages be together. It's funny to see the "orange screen" while you're in morphball.
3- The third one shows what happens if you perform the refill bug with a lot of things to refill. You can notice that the health and ammo are still being refilled when the "orange screen" appears.
4- The fourth one shows what happens when you have almost all the health and ammo (as in the second one) and you press A as soon as possible, (right) before the second message appears. This refill will bug the chozo statue and the varia suit, and you won't be able to use the varia suit (until you defeat chozo ghost and unlock the three unknown items, after suitless).
You can also notice that in every bug, after performing the refill glitch and the "orange screen" appears, you end up being a morphball.
P.S: if somebody knows how can I make the "Movie replaying (read)" message disappear while I record, please let me know.

Si notáis que hago algo raro en la granja de endermans (que me doy la vuelta en un momento concreto), es que mi ratón se volvió loco en ese momento. Quitadle 1 segundo al tiempo final que sale.
Por cierto, tardar 45 segundos en llegar a 30 con la XP Guard es algo muy raro y difícil (que no imposible, como ya veis), de los casos más rápidos que te pueden salir con esa granja. Tuve mucha suerte cuando grabé eso.

En el vídeo digo que tenéis que darle el arco en 1.7, pero no es del todo cierto: después de pasar el mundo a 1.7 y "quitarle" la espada al wither, puedes volver directamente a 1.8 y darle el arco en esa versión (haciendo esto te ahorras tener que craftear el arco en 1.7, pero aún así tendrás que "buscarlo" en 1.8, y cuidado no lo tengas demasiado cerca de dónde cambies de versión, que podría desaparecer el arco!).
Si veis que el vídeo y el audio no están bien sincronizados, es por un error con el programa de grabación de vídeo. Lo siento mucho, en serio; buscaré una solución a este problema.
En este vídeo muestro claramente como subir de nivel es bastante más difícil en minecraft 1.8 con respecto a las anteriores versiones (sobre todo con respecto a la 1.7).
Esto es debido a dos factores (que yo sepa):
- Los orbes de experiencia te dan menos experiencia
- El algoritmo de spawneo de mobs ha sido reducido, haciendo que los mobs spawneen más lentamente.
Esto hace que se requiera más tiempo en las granjas de experiencia para subir de nivel.
NOTA: la granja de xp más rápida de todas (sin contar la de Ender Dragon), es la WitherWiper/Ghast Wither Ripper (youtube.com/watch?v=eSEeonP54k4 / youtube.com/watch?v=O6JOe-vy3-U) y en 1.7 llegabas a nivel 30 en 25 segundos (como dice JL2579), y en 1.8 tardas 1 minuto 30 segundos aproximadamente.
Pongo esto para que tengáis otra referencia.
(Cuando estoy matando a los endermans en 1.7 se pude ver un error del vídeo en el que se para el vídeo durante unos segundos. El vídeo se grabó así, es solo eso).

This happened to me accidentaly when I created a new world FROM A RANDOM SEED for a new Survival UltraHardcore series that I'm still doing (that's why the name of the world is "Ultra HardCore").
Está es una manera muy fácil de matar al wither. Consiste en hacerse un pasillo de 1x2 en alguna parte subterránea y al final del pasilla invocar al wither, y conseguir que te vea. Intentará alcanzarte, pero no podrá porque no cabe por el hueco de 2x1, así que irá rompiendo bloques progresivamente en tu dirección para alcanzarte.
Si no quieres que te haga daño en exceso, primero lánzale flechas desde lejos con un arco de Power IV (Poder 4) o más (recomendación), y cuando se ponga en escudo protector pégale con una espada de Smite IV (Golpeo 4) o superior (recomendación). Si no te importa que te haga daño, golpeale desde un principio con la espada.
Para acelerar el proceso tómate una poción de strength II (fuerza 2), aunque dure poco el efecto, dura lo suficiente, como se ve en el vídeo.
Pues bueno, últimamente juego mucho en el servidor oc.tc y he creado un team con un par de amigos. Y como a Nasko988 se le olvida grabar (ejem), pues grabé esta partida. Antes no grababa porque me iba muy lageado si grababa y jugaba a la vez, pero ahora me va mejor y estoy mejorando mucho en PvP (ahora juego diez veces mejor que en este vídeo).

Si en el juego real Samus se pudiera equipar el Salto en Barrena sin equiparse el Salto Espacial, se podría hacer el Salto en Escalada en una sola pared. Esto debe ocurrir porque con el Salto en Barrena se anula el movimiento obligatorio del juego de ir hacia la dirección pulsada en un Salto en Escalada normal.
