In the nature journal community, we love to use our “Growth Mindset” so we can get better at things we’re not good at (yet). But another approach to skill development is “Strength-based Learning,” which has a focus on identifying and cultivating students’ core competencies. At first glance, these two approaches seem to be at odds with each other. As educators and as individuals, how can we use them together?
