3/3: N.J. is failing some kids with autism

New Jersey mom Chelsea Cella needs help for her daughter - and fast. 7-year-old Gianna is diagnosed with severe autism and her behavior spiraled after her therapy hours were cut in the spring. The drastic cut to her therapy is a symptom of a larger crisis in New Jersey; the shortage of therapy professionals working with children with autism.

The result? Services can be cut and no one is held accountable. New Jersey’s ombudsman is calling on lawmakers to intervene to help families who find themselves in a desperate and potentially dangerous situation.
