Born in Aeia, Hawai’I, Ronald Oba served in the 442nd RCT, F Company as a cook. He once had to cross a minefield in order to deliver food to his fellow soldiers. In this Hanashi Oral History clip from October 1998, Oba shares his recollection of why he felt he had to join the 442nd and his response to being told, "You are on the spot. You must volunteer to prove your loyalty."
