This is the one and only proper 2 phase boss in the game with 2 full health bars and a complete transformation after the first healthbar.

Always cast Life Leech on him to restore health while attacking him, which conserves your elixirs.

During his human phase, bring him to half health, then spam your summoning seals on him to kill him fast.

The second phase is a monster form with another full health bar. Attack from behind and throw Ninjutsu when it goes into its aggro mode. If you did well during the first phase you should have 6 elixirs or so for the monster phase, and keep refreshing Life Leech to restore health.

You can get Life Leech from Soul Core from Mermaid enemies in Bakumatsu region.
