Hell Rising | Part 6: The Hollow Schoolhouse
The next mission is upon us and this one is the definition of brutal. The Hollow Schoolhouse awaits.
If there is a word to sum this up, it's this: brutal. First with meet Tokugawa Mitsukuni. He's working on something that can help improve in terms of medicine. But he also said that there are alchemists working with Shosetsu. So he wants us to head to Chokodo to find out. He even sent some agents but they haven't returned. So he asks us to head in and find out what happened. This also begins another mission: Agony of the Mito Tokugawa. Don't worry. This is part of it.
Before that though, we have a few battles including against a formidable foe: Ooka Genzaburo. Once he's dealt with, we head further inside only to find a place that is one part lab, one part library. Yep. This is where things take a change in difficulty. Literlaly. The enemies there are alchemists that love using magic along with yo-kai. This makes things very dangerous. But if you think that's rough, the boss is what pushed me to my limit.
I speak of Kanai Hanbei. This guy is the definition of tough because he can wipe you out in seconds. He uses Electric moves and has a whip sword that makes it difficult. You need to focus on evading then striking. Your usual tricks won't work unless you have a plan that can take him down with ease. Sadly I didn't have a plan and it took me 40 minutes and multiple attempts to take him down. It forced me to replan my tactics, change up mys trategy and rely on using elemental magic to put him in twilight status. So if you wonder why I said those three words at the end, then you know why.
But we're not done yet. We return back to Mitsukuni as he's dealing with two yo-kai. We deal with those two with ease. Afterwards, we meet up with Mitsukuni and he's not happy with the news. His two associates were turned to yo-kai. Thankfully they are now at peace since honestly, they didn't deserve such a fate. It also completes the Agony of the Mito Tokugawa mission.
We'll continue onwards in Part 7.
