The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct just arrived with a few exciting announcements, a few boring announcements, and omissions of a lot of disappointing details, including the $450 price tag, prices for upgrading Switch games to perform better on Switch 2, and the overpriced $80 games...
Aside from the terrible announcements, we got a look at some fun new games, including Mario Kart World, Kirby AirRiders, and Donkey Kong Bananza. Switch Online Expansion subscribers are also getting Gamecube titles added to the catalogue, but only for Switch 2 owners.
Preorders start April 9th in the US, along with the release date of June 5th 2025. I'm thinking of getting one, but I'm not excited for the price of the games. The console is only $100 more than a regular Switch, that doesn't bug me, but $80 for games that run on par with a PS5 Pro is very upsetting.
