The final Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon ScareScraper game I got to play on Nintendo Network. It was 10 PM CST when it was discontinued for me, which caused the big disconnect at the end. And probably the weird glitchy moment I've never seen the likes of before, so something interesting actually did happen at the moment of discontinuation. We did one more power surge on the now missing ghosts before the big disconnect happened.
I did the usual when left alone, lose on purpose. But when I tried finding a new ScareScraper, none ever came. So I had a feeling... Sure enough, Nintendo Network was gone.
RIP, Nintendo Network. Thank you for the good childhood memories when you decided to work, particularly for Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon’s ScareScraper online. Dark Moon itself is one of the greatest games I had the privilege of going on an amazing adventure with in my childhood. Getting to experience the online mode with others helped keep me company in those times I was lonely, and I never had to worry about being bullied! So thank you for being there for me, when you decided to allow me to play instead of giving me nonstop errors for no reason at all. At least in its final days it worked perfectly as though nothing had ever been wrong. When I was little, I even kept a journal where I wrote my thoughts about the players I played with, including my own little illustrations as I loved drawing even back then. Thank you for never being an awful subscription. And I can’t believe I’m saying this but, thank you Nintendo, for discontinuing the service way later than I expected so I had the chance to return after the solar eclipse and play on it one last time. With how much fun the final games were, I couldn’t have asked for a better way to say goodbye! At first I didn’t think I’d really care if I missed out on that, but turns out it does mean something to me, and I feel very happy I got to say a proper goodbye. Thank you.
In case you're wondering, I beat all of Dark Moon years ago when I was younger!! I'm just using a game that doesn't have that save file. Gonna now switch to Pretendo and hope it works for the ScareScraper sometime, as it currently doesn’t seem supported sadly.
