Nintendo is cracking down on Nintendo Switch emulation once again — and this time 401 GitHub repositories have been caught in the crossfire.
Nintendo recently issued a series of DMCA takedown notices targeting repositories associated with Switch emulators including Suyu, Skyline, MonoNX and Yuzu-derived projects.
But this isn't Nintendo's first massive emulator takedown.
Back in 2024, GitHub processed a Nintendo DMCA notice affecting more than 8,500 Yuzu-related repositories, shortly after Nintendo sued Yuzu developer Tropic Haze LLC.
That lawsuit also contained an incredible claim involving The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which Nintendo alleged had been illegally downloaded more than ONE MILLION times before the game had even officially launched.
So what exactly has Nintendo targeted this time, and why does the company believe these Switch emulators violate the DMCA?
