"Drive the crime out of New York City! After years on the squad, undercover detective John Tanner is taking the law into his own hands. Experience a dark and thrilling investigation. Take down your enemies in high speed car chases. Over 100 missions and challenges!"
One of the earlier games released for the 3DS and quite surprising to see on a Nintendo console at this time considering how dark the game is and the amount of profanities thrown around throughout the game. It's a far cry from Mario Kart 7 which hadn't been released yet at this point. Its worth pointing out that the games map looks suspiciously reused from VD's previous game 'COP: The Recruit' on the DS.
The game is set between the two original driver games. Tanner is presented as a cliché movie action hero with a very predictable plot. The game mainly has you driving around a a sparse New York City with plenty of destroyable scenery. The missions consist of out running the enemy, chasing the enemy and or destroying the enemy. You destroy enemies by ramming them. You can earn boost by destroying things, drifting or jumping to power up a rage meter that lets you do more damage or turbo boost. The control feels quite floaty and oversensitive which makes it challenging to get the car going in a straight line at times.
Part 2 of this longplay is the career mode of the game. This is a throw away part of the game and is just added fluff to fill out the cartridge and its very short story mode. It's is made up of seven game modes each containing twelve missions for a total of eight four missions overall. Along the way extra cars are unlocked giving a total of fifty cars in the garage if story mode is completed and these cars can only be used in career mode. The opponent drivers are dumb as dirt and make some of the longer races really boring. It can also be annoying that an event wont end when you have reach the set target and continues on until time has run out. The overall score is mostly irrelevant as the only thing that matters is that you achieved the mission goal. Nothing happens when you complete all missions and reach max level leaving this mode ultimately unrewarding and pointless.

Andro Dunos II, developed by Picorinne Soft and published by PixelHeart in 2022.
In this pure homage to the classic 90s Arcade Shoot em up you take control of one of the most technologically advanced space ships ever... Features: Flexible and efficient gameplay. Recover power ups by killing enemies. Music composed by Allister Brimble (Alien Breed, Body Blows, Project-X, Colonization, Driver or Superfrog).
Sequel to Visco’s Neo-Geo Arcade game Andro Dunos release in 1992. Andro Dunos II was also released on Steam, Playstation4, Xbox, Nintendo switch and even the Dreamcast!. The 3DS game allows you to play in both 2D and 3D modes as you would expect but the resolution has taken a slight hit which is clearly visible on the title screens with obvious lines missing. There is also a gfx glitch on the tutorial screen which flashes all the buttons instead of the actions it is trying to show (Confirmed on hardware and emulation). There seems to be a gfx glitch with one of the stage six boss abilities. The game also take 20 seconds or so to load at the start which Ive trimmed for the video. Overall I think the 3DS game could have done with a little more polish in its presentation.
The game is fast and furious with plenty to shoot at and plenty to avoid as the screen fills with projectiles if you dont destroy enemies fast enough Your craft features four weapons to help in different situations shooting in varied directions. There is also a charged shot which does more damage but can can leave that weapon in a drained state for a few seconds until it recharges. You can switch to another weapon at normal power but no charged shot until .. charged. During play you can collect weapon upgrades to make them more powerful but if you also collect enough blue power ups, you will get a bonus weapon power up option at the end of the stage. Each level has 30 blue orbs to collect with a level up rewarded for each 10 collected.
The game has seven levels. Completing these will unlock Boss Rush Mode. Completing Boss Rush will unlock the Bonus levels taken from the original 1992 game. Once unlocked they can be played in the Stage Select mode. There is no real story to game. Just pick up and play, destroy everything, the end. This might be one of the last 3DS games to have seen a physical cartridge release.
