An expedition led by Lloyd's mother has gone missing on a remote island off the coast of Ninjago. The Ninjas go on a rescue mission and they recruit Twitchy Tim, the only Ninja to return alive from this mysterious island.
They track down the expedition but at the same time discover an ancient tribe of native islanders with a strange lightning-based technology.
