This is the climactic music that plays during the final battle of Ninjago: Dragons Rising's 50th episode (and 260th overall), "The Shatter Dragon". The track, titled "The Source of Strength", plays as Arin uses Morro's elixir to kill Thunderfang. The track was partially released on co-composer Adam Dib's website, though this extended version includes the opening score.
It's not often I upload exclusive Ninjago tracks that stick out for their emotional resonance, whether it's "Zane's Death", "Lloyd's Flashbacks" ... finale tracks that Jay Vincent and Michael Kramer went all out with. As incredible as their scores always are, there haven't been standout finale tracks like those in years - but this music changed that. To me, "The Source of Strength" is Ninjago's best (mid-season) finale music we've heard since before the Wildbrain era, as it enhances an already awe-inspiring scene.
The track opens with what I call “Arin’s strength” motif - a new, hopeful theme throughout this track that starts off almost solemn on piano, before gaining momentum as it’s joined by strings (0:23). The theme quiets down as Ras casts doubt on Arin (0:39), and returns more tenderly on piano, as Arin recalls Sora recognizing his source of strength (0:48). As Arin’s strength theme swells on strings and horns, coupled with bits of the main theme (1:02), the main theme builds up with a flurry of the Spinjitzu theme (1:20) - after which the Dragons Rising theme erupts in all its glory, and closes out with Arin's strength theme (2:15).
