This piece is played during various episodes of the Ninjago TV show. In fact, it's played in so many different episodes I made a list below for all the scenes that have featured this track. This video took a little longer to edit, as I put together five scenes from four different episodes, matching each segment of the track to where it was played in the show. In the end I think it turned out pretty well, but undoubtedly what matters most is the music itself.
Horns of Destruction is an amazing track, and perhaps the best track of the recently released album for season two. It's rich with so many different themes. The piece starts off with a rendition of the Green Ninja theme, and it helps to set the uncertain tone of the scene as Lloyd prepares to fight his father. This is followed by a rendition of Garmadon's theme, which is brief but is actually my favorite part of the piece. After this, an original segment is played, a memorable cue from season two's soundtrack. A dramatic reprise of the Overlord's theme follows, along with a tragic rendition of the Overture and a solemn rendition of the Overture mixed with the Green Ninja theme. The piece ends with a great, creepy and almost primitive-sounding reprise of the Overlord's theme. I almost forgot where this piece played in the show, but somehow at the last second I remembered exactly where it was played. Maybe because it fits the scene so well!
With so many different memorable themes included, there's bound to be at least one part of this track you remember from season two or beyond, and rightly so. Below are details on each segment of the piece and when it was played in the show.
The segment from 0:00 to 1:30 is played in episode twenty-five, "Return of the Overlord", when Lloyd is about to fight his father but, feeling conflicted, is unable to do so. 0:36 to 1:02 of this segment is also played in episode fifty-three, "Curse World - Part II", when Morro tells Lloyd his father his alive, and if he destroys the Realm Crystal he won't see him again. The segment from 1:34 to 2:00 is played in episode thirty, "The Curse of the Golden Master", when Lloyd rides over to the cliff and faces the Nindroid MechDragon. The segment from 2:01 to 3:11 is played in "Return of the Overlord" when the Ninja fall off the cliff and reunite, and the segment from 3:12 to the end is played in episode twenty-six, "Rise of the Spinjitzu Master", when Dareth stares down the Overlord as the Garmatron arrives in Ninjago City.
