I just had to edit this duo, they are my comfort characters right now!!!
I adore this movie, this is my comfort film, I haven't laughed or cried and better yet felt so understood by a movie before, so long I always felt like an outcast, so weird in comparison to my family, my peers, everyone.
Gosh, this movie... it should just be a movie, I turned it on because I love animation and I love Riz Ahmed yet I ended up loving and relating with both Nimona and Ballister on such personal levels I didn't even know about before, somehow this movie perfectly conveyed all the feelings I've had my whole life of being different and how I tried so much to fit in for years to be accepted by people who would never understand me... but it wasn't really living, how can you be happy in a life where you cannot be yourself??
I hope this encourages more films to bring on these topics and show them in such a positive and beautiful light such as Nimona, because this movie... gosh it seems so silly to say, but it saved me when I didn't even know I needed this film.
I am so glad it was saved and completed, we needed this movie in such a hard world we live in right now.
The perfect way to have ended the month of June.
