This one spider has been on an insane journey so far.
It's far from over.
The Nightsmith is, to the spider, just one more location on the path.
It is far more complicated than that.
But that doesn't matter right now.
Right now, the spider, and us as well, need a calm break from the journey.
We've reached a point of no return.
Not that the spider had any intention of returning anywhere anyways.
The Nightsmith welcomes us with a warm embrace.
As is expected from something that chose to resemble a forge structure.
It functions as one as well.
Just, quite a bit more powerful.
Not powerful in the traditional sense, exactly, more like a strange power has tried to make itself appear as the heat of a flame, and in doing so created an actual heat that is more of a byproduct than anything.
Still, the power of the forge is drowned out by the power of the dark inhabiting it.
The warm dark.
The comfortable, tranquil darkness.
This song isn't the best representation of that, I will admit. It is a bit more upbeat than one might expect from that kind of description.
There is good reason for that, though.
This is not much of a true stopping point on the spider's quest here. A momentary break, is all.
The energy used to keep moving forward must be kept fed, like a fire.
The spider gets to venture out into the void, even if only for a moment, and gets to see in true darkness.
It will be fun. I have gone on similar adventures myself, and this is certainly one of my favorite parts.
If you too are going that deep, tell the darkness I said hello!
