I’ve been wanting to cover Nightsong since I started doing covers! Laurie Ann Haus, the original vocalist, has such a beautiful voice. I have even more respect for her after attempting this song myself. Sometimes when I like a song/game so much, it takes me longer to start it. I decided to play electronic drums for the first time instead of my usual bongos/household items. Huge thanks to DonutDrums for lending his drumset and helping me learn the pattern. He also helped me to create the drum sound effects. I recorded 3 different tracks of the same pattern - I only filmed one because I’d be doing the same thing in all 3 drum videos. In each drum track, I am using slightly different drum-sounds for a fuller sound.
In the video, I flew around Ashenvale (where Nightsong can be heard) and filmed the ambience/action around there. I’ve been back in WoW lately and it’s been great. I’ve been inspired and finished this and a new Stormwind piano cover that I posted along with this video!
(side note: you may see me feeding my dog some carrot in one of the screens)!
