Film Score and More | Night at the Museum Score: Larry's Theme/One Of Those Days - Instrumental Cover @FilmScoreandMore | Uploaded July 2019 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
I’m trying to learn more about scores by working on these brief instrumental covers while also increasing my upload frequency, so I did this tiny piece of incidental music from 2006 that the YouTube algorithm will never notice.
I guess this is supposed to be Larry’s theme in “Night at the Museum,” and I do remember noticing it throughout the movie. It’s pretty far from the grand orchestral music the precedes it in the opening titles and becomes more prominent as the story progresses. It’s fitting, then, that this is musically Larry’s world which is then blown out of the water by all the magic that follows.
This is my first time using spiccato music, which you can hear on some of the strings in here. This piece actually calls for spiccato and staccato at the same time in parts, just on different sections of the strings.
Overall, the instrumentation is pretty minimal; there’s no brass until the very end and the instrumentation mostly focuses on light, playful strings/harp and light percussion.
