Jacqueline “Jacque” Bell-Benton has been a part of the MedStar Health family for 36 years, first joining the gyn-oncology unit at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. She eventually transitioned to MedStar Washington Hospital Center in 2008, as a lactation consultant, happy to stay in that role, she said, until retirement. But “forces” had other plans. After three invitations to take the role as nurse director of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), she relented and said yes. And, so began her journey to be part of a unit that serves our most vulnerable population and their families.
