From the Grinch to Charlie Brown to Buddy the Elf--it was an ultra-festive holiday sweater photo shoot in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit at Nebraska Medical Center. Our NICU nurses teamed up with the March of Dimes Family Support Program to provide holiday outfits and take pictures of our tiniest patients. So much creativity went into making each outfit! Holy Stitchers made and donated the Santa hats and Sheep Farm felt made those tiny candy canes. Sewing for Babies also made stockings, burp cloths and booties for all of our NICU patients. Most of the costumes are made with felt, so they can gently be laid on top of the babies without disturbing any tubes or cords.
It's no fun to spend the holidays in the hospital. But thanks to everyone who took part, these images will hold special memories for every family who took part.
