I needed to practice 2 ways of mounting a platter, to get timings for an upcoming demonstration. The timber was 2 identical London Plane pieces. Then I forgot what I was supposed to be doing and went off on this tangent instead.
I met Nick many years ago before he moved to the USA, He presented a trophy I won back in the early days of my turning journey and every time our paths crossed he remembered and was interested in my progress.
Nick was a brilliant artist, a great woodturner and teacher, and most importantly a really nice person.
Though he has passed away, his footprints are spread far and wide, his website still exists and you can see some of his work here nickagarstudios.com
