NHL star Johnny Gaudreau and his brother should have been standing with their sister this afternoon as she said her vows. Tragically, both Johnny and his brother Matthew Gaudreau were killed Thursday night in N.J. after being hit by a suspected drunk driver while they were riding their bikes. The brothers were in town for their sister’s wedding set to take place this afternoon in Philadelphia.
The driver of the SUV that struck the brothers has been identified as 43-year-old Sean Higgins. He’s been charged with two counts of second-degree death by auto and told police he had “approximately 5-6 beers prior to the accident,” according to the affidavit of probable cause state police filed.
