「JCAHPC の新スパコン Miyabi とアプリケーションGPU移行の取り組み」

概要 ：近年、電力と設置面積の制約のもと、最大限に計算性能を高くするために、多くのスパコンでGPUなどの演算加速装置が導入されている。東京大学情報基盤センターと筑波大学計算科学研究センターと共同で設置する最先端共同HPC基盤施設（JCAHPC）では2025年1月からGPUを搭載したスパコンMiyabiの運用を開始した。Miyabiは東京大学にとって初となるGPU主体のスパコンである。本講演では、Miyabiの概要とその導入への道のり、Miyabiに向けた既存アプリケーションをGPUへ移行する取り組みについて紹介する。

To maximize computational performance within the constraints of power and physical space, many modern supercomputers are equipped with computational accelerators like GPUs. In January 2025, the Joint Center for Advanced High-Performance Computing (JCAHPC), jointly established by the Information Technology Center at the University of Tokyo and the Center for Computational Sciences at the University of Tsukuba, launched its new GPU-based supercomputer, Miyabi. This marks the first primarily GPU-powered supercomputer for the University of Tokyo. This talk will provide an overview of the Miyabi system, the process leading to its deployment, and our strategic activities for porting existing applications to this new GPU architecture.
