「Beyond CI/CD: Continuous Performance-Driven Principles for Future HPC Systems and Applications」
"Beyond CI/CD: Continuous Performance-Driven Principles for Future HPC Systems and Applications"
Speaker: Yoshifumi Nakamura (RIKEN R-CCS)
Date and Time: Thursday, July 17, 2025, 13:00–14:00 (JST)
This talk discusses the construction of a framework for continuous benchmarking, evaluation, and optimization by extending the CI/CD concept to the performance layer, in response to the growing complexity of modern HPC systems and applications. We highlight the importance of scientifically meaningful performance measurement that accurately reflects real-world computation patterns and communication behaviour, going beyond small-scale benchmarks. We also advocate for the development of an open and sustainable integration framework independent of specific vendors or tools, enabling diverse researchers to collaborate on a common foundation. Furthermore, we aim to realize an ecosystem in which developers share measurement data to allow system developers and operators to continuously improve hardware and libraries.
