In this Nextion Display Tutorial we will learn:
- How to use pictures or images on Nextion Display
- How to change Images using Internal Timer and variables
- How to change Images by send command serially through a Micro controller

We have used Nextion Editor Software to design the GUI for Nextion Display. In this demo I have use a PIC Micro controller but you can even use an Arduino, ESP8266 or any IoT Module the Nextion command set remains the same.

No Library or stack is used in this demo.

What is Nextion Display?
Nextion is a HMI Display with a TFT Touchscreen and Serial interface. Using the NEXTION Editor software, you can quickly develop the HMI GUI by using drag and drop components like graphics, text box, button, slider, etc.

Using UART interface with just two wires (Tx & Rx) you can connect the Nextion display to any Microcontroller via a 5 volt TTL interface. Using this UART interface you can connect the Nextion display to any Microcontroller like 8051, PIC, AVR, ARM Processors, STM Controllers, Arduino boards and even IoT based modules like NodeMcu (ESP8266 & ESP32), Particle Photon as well.
