This message is inspired by Joshua chapter 3 verses 1-4, where God leads the children of Israel into their promised land, a metaphor for our own progression.
In this insightful encounter, you'll learn three crucial principles for navigating God's new seasons:
Be Ready to Reposition: God may have put you in a comfortable position for a time, but to move forward with His presence, you must be ready to leave your "camped out" mindset and reposition your mind, spirit, and habits. This requires a heightened sense of God's presence and His leading.
We Have Never Been This Way Before: Acknowledge that this season is new and unlike anything we've experienced before, whether as individuals or as a global community. While God remains the same, He may operate differently, providing for us in new ways. This calls for humility and a willingness to suspend our limited imagination, trusting in the Lord with our whole heart rather than relying on what we see or feel. Obedience to what we hear from the Lord, not just hearing, is key to our path being directed.
Stay Reverent: Even though, as New Testament believers, we have an intimate relationship with God through the indwelling Holy Spirit (unlike the Old Testament where the Ark of the Covenant represented His presence and could not be touched without consequence), our intimacy should not replace our reverence for His presence and power. Being casual with the Holy Spirit by not obeying His word is a dangerous level of comfort. Our reverence should compel us to move and leave behind old ways of thinking and living when God speaks.
The "next level" involves becoming so in tune with God's presence that we are willing to reposition ourselves to advance His kingdom, leading to personal transformation and a noticeable difference in how we move and appear to others.
